RuneBound review

Hello, today I'll be reviewing Runebound , a game by Fantasy Flight Games. This game is set in a medieval fantasy land named Terrinoth, which many other FFG games are set in, such as Descent and Runewars. Runebound is a game for two to four players, where each player takes the role of a hero of Terrinoth. In Runebound, there are six heroes that are available to play as. Each of the four expansions to Runebound includes another hero though, so if you get them all, you'll have ten heroes to play as, which should suffice.   As the game progresses, players progressively level up their heroes' skills and equip them with weapons and other items. These can be obtained by travelling around Terrinoth and buying from cities. In order to increase the power of your hero, you will need to attempt various adventures. Adventures are represented on the map by small tokens. When a hero does an adventure, he draws a card from the corresponding adventure deck, then resolves i...

Star wars: the Clone Wars board game (Fanmade by me)

Hi! Today I'm proud to announce that I'm creating a prequel expansion to Star Wars Rebellion. You can read about Star Wars Rebellion here . The expansion's current working name is Star Wars: The Clone Wars board game. Just stressing something;  Disney, Lucasfilm, and FFG endorse this game in no way.  I've started work on the leaders, with many of their first iterations ready. I will be playtesting this game using Vassal , there will be a sign-up form soon. There will be two ways to create your copy:  You will require Star Wars: Rebellion to make this version, you are essentially covering all the Rebellion pieces with printed pieces of paper. Alternatively, you could use a game printer to print your cards. The army figures are a bit more difficult, again, there are multiple solutions: If you have a 3D printer, you can just print the figures. I will provide the files at the correct scale, however 3D printing can take a long time. Order off Shapeways . I wil...

Star wars Rebellion

Today I'm going to be reviewing Star Wars Rebellion . This game is my current favourite tabletop game, and if you're a Star Wars fan and a tabletop fan (the latter is not strictly necessary), it is a must-have. It is especially good that you only need a minimum of one fellow fan (or conscripted fan) to play! The box is one of the tallest boxes I've seen, at over five inches tall! This ensures that everything fits, without too much wiggle room. The board is very big, it is actually two boards put side by side. You can see a picture of the game below. As you can see below, there are just about enough pieces. 😀 Also visible below, the star destroyers and Death Stars (I, II, and under construction) will need some assembly before they are fully operational. Image taken by  Raymond Fowkes   In Star Wars Rebellion one player takes the side of the Alliance to Restore the Republic (better known as the Rebels), while the other player takes the Empire. The Empi...

DOOM

Hi everybody! I'm doing my first review on a recently published board game:  DOOM . This game was created by Jonathan Ying and published by Fantasy Flight Games. It is based on a really old video game (Or at least, really old to me!😉 ). I first played this game around Christmas, and I really enjoyed it. DOOM is a board game for 2-5 players set on Mars, (and Hell!) where 1 player takes on the role of the invader, controlling hordes of demons, and the others become marines, defending the Martian bases against said demons. There are 12 missions in the box, split evenly over 2 campaigns. In each mission, the marines have to complete a certain objective in order to win. The invader can win by simply killing the marines a lot. When a marine dies, he will respawn. This game uses the same map/tile movement as many other games, such as Imperial Assault and Descent: Journeys into the dark (which I may review someday). However, DOOM does not have the same 2-action ...
